In 2008 AfSL’s approach to engaging and supporting individuals and communities in addressing sustainability was nationally recognised in the prestigious Guardian Charity of the Year awards.

Our work in priority wards in Manchester City to engage communities on climate change and energy saving was recognised by Northwest colleagues’ CLASP programme in 2010.

National Energy Efficiency Awards – Finalist

AfSL project work with schools, in partnership with Trafford Borough Council, was selected as a finalist in these national awards sponsored by EDF Energy, The Independent, and the UK Centre for Economic and Environmental Development.

Workplace Cycle Challenge Award

Our record of staff cycling was recognised in 2010 as winner of the Greater Manchester Workplace Cycle Challenge. 100% of our staff got on their bikes and cycled 452 miles in one month.
