The keynote speaker is Professor Roy Alexander, talking about Ashton Hayes, (the village in Cheshire that is trying to go carbon neutral.)
Other sessions (there are almost 20) include "Women and children first? Gender and Climate Change", "Corporate Strategy: not just Greenwash", "Aviation and Manchester: Joined at the Hip?" and "Religious perspectives on Climate Change."

There will also be lots of information and freebies, and on Sunday, at 7:30 an eco-quiz with a juicy cash prize. It's bound to be a lot of fun and will hopefully be a really educational and pro-active day.

The University of Manchester has recently held its re-freshers fair of student societies. This event however is not just for students. It is open to everyone with free entry and will feature stalls from a range of local campaign groups, featuring radical literature, bike maintenance workshop 12-1pm, refreshments, films and a free shop.

So come along if you are curious about what goes on in the city campaign-wise off campus. Or if you are already involved in a group then come along to meet others. You are invited to bring second hand items to give to the free shop.

Celebrate the Fairtrade Fortnight by bringing a minimum of three items of clothing to the swap shop.
The Swap Shop is a simple way of reusing old clothes. It's a collaboration between Action for Sustainable Living, Manchester Friends of the Earth and the Make Trade Fair Society at Manchester University.
DID YOU KNOW that it's great if you pass on your clothes to charity shops, but that you can do even more by actually using second-hand clothes. An issue for British charity shops is that only 10-20 per cent of their clothes are actually resold in the UK.

Volunteers needed to help construct a beautiful 50m living willow tunnel in Crowcroft Park! No willow weaving experience neccessary, training is provided. You are welcome to visit and help with the tunnel any day between 10am and 5pm of the week beginning 10th March. host relaxation and fitness taster sessions featuring Pilates and NIA
dance. In the evening we will be serving a delicious and healthy supper
