The first clothes swap shop in timperley village was a greatsuccess, with lots of new ideas suggested by attendees to improve thenext event. This has now been booked to take place on the 5th Feb 2009.As well as bringing clothes to swap, accessories will also be availableon the night to complete the desired new outfits ie; handbags, shoes etc.
There will be a £1 entrance fee which includes tea/coffee and a biscuit!
So come down and get yourself a new wardrobe! Make sure you bring at least three items of unwanted clothes/accessories to swap.
Be nice to yourself and your junk! Join us for a relaxing craft sessions using recycled materials. This week we'll be making flowers from used drinks bottles, beads and broken jewellery (now you know what to do with all those single earrings!). Jazz up your garden with something guaranteed to survive Manchester weather and slug conditions! Bring your own rubbish or use ours. The materials are recycled but the cake will be fresh! Child protectinon is an essential part of working in schools. Come to this training to find out how to deal with the key issues, followed by a session investigating challenging behaviours, and how to overcome them when teaching.
The first part of this meeting will be about the global. Dr Victoria Johnson of the New Economics Foundation will talk about the Poznan climate change negotiations, their outcomes and the "Road to Copenhagen."

Do you want to make a REAL difference in Timperley?
Want to meet new people and become part of an effective team?
Then come along to the first meeting of the Timperley Action Group, formed to try and join forces to improve the local area. The meeting will be a forum to gauge ideas of what projects people feel most passionately about and what action on sustainability can happen in Timperley!
Whalley Range - Grow Your Own, is a group of local volunteers who have a keen interest in organic gardening and learning how to grow their own vegetables in a sustainable fashion.
The first group project will be based at Tangemere Court residential home on Dudley Road, Whalley Range. The residents and site manager are keen to get planting some vegetables in an unused bed at the Court and have welcomed the group to make use of a small plot and have a go at growing our own.

Packolocker Factory
Recycle Crisp packets, thread waste and other fiberous materials into a lacey paper-like material using household appliances. Help make a stock of the material and a list of all it’s possible uses to be part of a larger development project.

These workshops are open to individuals or groups of up to 7 per session. Young people under 18 must be accompanied.

This week we'll be making hand boxes from cards. Do you hang on to favourite birthday and Christmas cards? Keep them at the bottom of a drawer somewhere? Well, get them out and learn how to turn them into cute little boxes to keep bits & bobs tidy - ideal for jewellery, paperclips, coins and other small items that are always getting lost. Or use them as gift boxes for homemade sweets. We'll even give you some recipes. The possibilities are endless.
