growing on Manchester soil!

2 Basics Soil, Plant growth, Feeding

3 Look round Martin's plot

4 Cultivation techniques In the ground, in beds, in containers

5 Plants Sowing, Transplanting, Growing, Picking.

There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions.

Gather your old bottles (small, coloured ones look best), wire coats hangers and decorative bits and bobs - like beads from broken jewellery - to join us for this workshop.

The Environmental Walk will start at St James's Church and proceed throughout the area. The walk will include litter picking and an opportunity to discuss ways of reducing Carbon Footprint.

There will be an Environmental Green Walk through Moss Side to encourage local residents, Church Groups and Youth Groups to reduce their carbon Footprint.

The main aim is to raise awareness and highlight the need to choose a green transport mode such as walking or cycling rather than using a car.

The Event will also include a Litter pick which will focus particularly on the importance of keeping the local enviornment and natural resources within Moss Side tidy.

Between 11 - 4pm, local people are invited to visit the allotment site where a range of vegetable and flower seedlings will be on sale. People will also be able to see the 100+ allotment plots on our site.The plant sales at Seymour Grove allotments are an important way for us to fund raise to keep the site running smoothly. The plants are raised by plotholders and all proceeds go to our society. It is a great opportunity to pick up some very good value plants.
