We'll also be using ribbons, sweet wrappers and buttons, so bring them along too for a lovely chilled out evening cutting and gluing.

Update your wardrobe and beat the credit crunch by bringing a minimum of three items of clean clothing to the Swap Shop at Levenshulme Library on Cromwell Grove, Levenshulme, Manchester on Saturday 23rd January. Clothes drop off 2.00-2.30pm.Swapping 2.30-3.00pmFREE if you have three items of clothing, £1 if you don't. Donations also welcome. Items can include: garments, shoes, bags and accessories.

Organised by Friends Of Victoria Park in Stretford as part of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) Big Garden Bird Watch 2010 happening across the UK between 30-31st January. The idea is to join the group and record the most common bird species you see in the park. This project has arisen from two main starting points.  One is from my own love of crafting and desire to continue these important skills by passing them on.  I believe that a sustainable way of living is only possible if you have a good working knowledge of making the items you need to live, ie clothes and that people with low incomes can still have ‘luxury’ items- handmade gifts, household items, decoration etc using recycled and reclaimed materials to produce items superior to similar cheap mass produced products.

Transform a pair of old socks into an amazing long armed, long tailed funky monkey.  These monkeys have so much personality, you will fall in love with your creation. They take a bit longer to make than sock monsters, so we’re making them over two sessions on 4 and 11 February.
