The idea is to join the group and record the most common bird species you see in the park. This project has arisen from two main starting points. One is from my own love of crafting and desire to continue these important skills by passing them on. I believe that a sustainable way of living is only possible if you have a good working knowledge of making the items you need to live, ie clothes and that people with low incomes can still have ‘luxury’ items- handmade gifts, household items, decoration etc using recycled and reclaimed materials to produce items superior to similar cheap mass produced products.
Transform a pair of old socks into an amazing long armed, long tailed funky monkey. These monkeys have so much personality, you will fall in love with your creation. They take a bit longer to make than sock monsters, so we’re making them over two sessions on 4 and 11 February.

Sarah Ventress is volunteering her time to develop energy efficiency measures for people living in rented accommodation; this group of people has been shown to be particularly powerless to take actions to make their homes more efficient as often their landlord will be unwilling to assist. Sarah’s project reward’s green friendly landlords by providing positive publicity to potential tenants.

On Saturday 20th February, people from all walks of life will gather to imagine Manchester in the year 2020- and how it will be ready for the changes that Climate Change will bring to Greater Manchester and beyond.With sessions on food, transport, the airport, democracy, religion, and more, the Central Hall (on Oldham St) will be fizzing with ideas, energy and hundreds of new connections being made
Action for Sustainable Living's AGM will be held on Tuesday 23rd February at The Friends Meeting House (Manchester Central). It will be from 6:00pm to around 9:15pm with a buffet and ceilidh to get you in the swing of things. Although there won't be any alcohol at the event, you are more than welcome to carry on the fun afterwards in the bars nearby.Places are limited, so please RSVP to the contact below.
