This public debate is a chance for people to air their views on issues affecting the Manchester city region. In recent decades there have been some high profile achievements in the Manchester city region. Despite these, it still faces some daunting challenges. Severe levels of deprivation, endemic low pay in many parts of the economy, an ageing housing stock, growing environmental concerns, and a struggling public infrastructure.

Start: 7:00 pm
End: 10:00 pm

A public debate for the people of Manchester to express their opinions on issues, ranging from deprivation to the environment, which affect their city. There will be a panel to answer questions from the audience, including Keynote speaker Will Hutton from the Work Foundation, Caroline Downey of MERCi and David Campbell from GMCVO’s Transport Resource Unit.

The event is being organised by the University of Manchester Brooks World Poverty Institute and attendance is free.
