In the past few months the Heap has been subject to persistent attacks by vandals.. but we have reclaimed our allotment and are fighting back! Come along and get involved, what could be a better start to the new year than working outdoors with lovely people and learning new skills?! The Heap is found next to Highfield Country Park, Levenshulme, M19 2UD, and the Fallowfield Loop. Go down Highfield Rd (turn left off Broom Lane) and follow it to the end, where it turns into the allotment site, you can't miss is, it has large metal gates.. then follow the signs to the Heap! The Heap is a vegan organic allotment, which mean that all food is grown without pesticides or animal products, and we grow food in accordance with permaculture principals. We have some wellies but please wear scruffy clothes and sensible footwear, and bring some vegan food to share if you can! We also have regular work days on the Heap so even if you can't make the work weekend there's never been a better time to get involved! Workdays are every Wednesday 11-4, and on the 3rd Sunday of every month: 18th Jan, 15th Feb, 15th March. We also meet on the 2nd Thursday of every month: 15th Jan, 12th Feb, 12th March.
