CELEBRATE 2009
It's nearly that time of year again - featuring a host of Whalley Range talent, information and fun!
This year will be the 12th annual Whalley Range Celebrate Community Arts Festival!
The event will take place at St Margaret’s Primar y School on Withington Road on May Day Bank Holiday Monday, 4th May, 12-6pm.

The Festival has taken place at various venues in Whalley Range on the May Day Bank Holiday for the past 11 years - and is very much about local people organising an event to promote the cultural and artistic talent of Whalley Range.
Since the 10th Anniversary in 2007 we have extended the number of events and activities across the year, giving the local schools and people the opportunity to participate in our events - which celebrate the diversity of our community - bringing together people of all ages and cultures.
There will be lots of stalls, a Health & Information marquee, music, art and performance workshops, skipping, delicious food and bouncy castles at this year’s event and much more!
We recruit a team of volunteers who are trained and supported in relevant activities such as event planning, publicity and marketing, as well as helping out on the festival day.
If you would like to host an Information stall, sell books clothes or jewellery etc, perform, exhibit your schools/groups work, - or volunteer for Celebrate 2009, please contact us at the address below – or leave a message on the JNR8 office answer phone and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.

The objects of Celebrate shall be to improve the conditions of life of the residents of Whalley Range by improved communication, community understanding, and co-operation, through the provision, of leisure, education and cultural activities.The aims of the group are to are to:--celebrate the talent, diversity and resources of Whalley Range-promote a positive image of the area and improve the quality of life-encourage participation of the different communities within the area,-work in an anti-discriminatory, and inclusive way (i.e be low cost and barrier free).
