Call For Readers – Futuresonic 2009
See below for an invitation from Amy Balkin who is looking for volunteers to sign up for 20 minute reading slots as part of a collaborative public reading on 14/15/16 May. The city centre location for the reading will be announced shortly and will be a short walk from the CUBE gallery on Portland Street and other festival venues. The call for volunteers has only just been announced on some other lists and the slots are starting to fill up now. Futuresonic are very excited to be commissioning a project by a respected figure working with social and environmental issues and hope you’re able to participate.

Hi,
I'm organising an artist-led reading project to take place at Futuresonic in Manchester. The project is a collaborative public reading from the most recent volume of the 2007 IPCC Fourth Assessment Report: Mitigation of Climate Change, which will be read aloud eight hours a day, over the three days of the festival (May 14-16). I'm writing to invite you to participate by reading for 20 minutes, or to pass this invitation on to others you think may be interested. There are 72 reading 'slots' available, each of 20 minutes in duration.
You can sign up online at, www.tomorrowmorning.net/readingIPCC if you'd like to take part.
The reading will take place in Manchester, but the exact location is still TBC. I'm currently seeking readers, and am hoping you'll pass this email on to people near Manchester who may be interested; such as people concerned about the IPCC process and climate change, library reading groups, or people interested in durational, public, and collaborative reading.
Email amy@tomorrowmorning.net with any questions, or suggestions of people or groups in Manchester it would be worthwhile to contact.
Many thanks, Amy Balkin
