Moss Side

Moss Side is a High-Density Residential area undergoing regeneration and housing facelift schemes. The area lies on the A5103 (Princess Park Way/Princess Road) and is 1.9 Miles (3.1 Km) South of Manchester City Centre. Moss Side is the home of a multi-ethnic community that has a very good community spirit resulting from the variety of cultures within the vicinity. The Alexandra Park is an ornamental public garden that attracts many visitors. The Park offers a vast amount of greenery and space, with its tree-lined walks. There are Summer family fun days that take place and an annual Caribbean Carnival Festival. The area also consists of an allotment where keen gardeners grow their own vegetables.

Hi, I am the Local Project Manager for both Moss Side and Hulme Wards. My main aim is to make a difference, through informing local residents within these communities on methods about being aware of living more sustainable. I feel educating people about caring for the environment and its resources is a priority and I will make large steps to bring about a positive influence within Moss Side and Hulme.

Moss Side Green Group

The main focus is to address local community environmental and social needs. The group consists of the following

aims and objectives:

1) Increase community engagement and participation amongst both young and older networks.
2) Promote the need to recycle waste and address environmental issues.
3) Lead the way in supporting individuals to reduce their Carbon Footprint thus, helping to reduce climatic change.
