Hi, I've lived and worked in and around Moss Side for over eight years and have become very fond of the community here and it's drive to improve both the local environment and also it's attitude. Moss Side has often been given a bad press and in my opinion that isn't fair. As a local project manager for AFSL I hope to bring together the residents and pre-existing residents groups to build upon the good work already achieved. My skills are in craft and art (taught to me by a very patient and loving Gran) and six years of being a Youth and Community Developement Worker, so I thought it would be good to combine the two to run craft workshops with a view to sustainability and community cohesion. They are currently being run at Claremont Road Sure Start in the day time and evening workshops are to come very soon! Please come along, everyone is welcome and all abilities are catered for! I've even managed to teach our local Community Police Officer to knit, so if he can do it so can you! |
