I am pleased to tell you that the event on 19th April at Touchstones, The Esplanade, Rochdale between 6 and 9pm will have some great speakers and be a good opportunity for the people that care about the sustainability issues affecting Rochdale Borough and of course the planet, to meet and to think of ways that we can make the Borough a greener, more resilient and sustainable place. Speaking will be, in no particular order, Caroline Downey, Executive Director of MERCi and Claire Morris who is the sustainable change coordinator, Ben McCarron from Friends of the Earth, Mark Warburton from Energy Saving Trust and Karen Hayday from Hourglass. I am really excited that these speakers are prepared to give up their time to help make a difference here. Following this we shall break up into workshop style groups to come up with three ideas or projects that can start us on the road towards making a difference, no ideas will be discounted and hopefully this will give us the opportunity to bring the many skills and passions that I know exist in Rochdale. Join us on the Monday 19th April at Touchstones and use your voice and talents to make Rochdale the greenest borough in Greater Manchester, we have a long way to go but we are already the greenest in terms of countryside, lets match that with sustainability! Refreshments will be provided.
