HEAT’s first community-wide awareness raising campaign was a Newsletter mail-out to the 7,000 residents in Hulme. The newsletter campaign was funded by National Energy Action as a regional winner in their 'Affordable Warmth' scheme.

It was put together with contributions from HEAT members and other volunteers and included: - An outline of HEAT purposes as a community wide initiative. - Energy Saving tips with local themes. - Energy Awareness Pledges. - An Energy Use Log – an easy to use way for individuals to monitor and understand their own domestic energy consumption. - Free loft insulation sign-ups forms for those on benefits. - Explanatory material about renewable Vs non-renewable energy supply – with green energy sign-up advice. - How to get involved? – a leaflet to recruit new members and offer training programmes for local energy efficiency champions. - HEAT May Talks promotions
