I’m an LPM for Urmston, where I’ve lived for over 5 years. My main interest is in sustainable food growing and I work for a local community project converting unused land into a market garden. I have an organic allotment and have helped set up Abundance Trafford, to gather surplus fruit and vegetables to give to local charities and groupsand Trafford Organic Growers, to bring people together who want to grow organically. Leagate Allotment Project

AfSL is happy to be involved with an exciting project in the Urmston/Stretford area. We are working in partnership with Trafford Council to help convert a disused piece of land at the end of Leagate on the Stretford/Urmston border back into allotments. Having secured just under £5k of funding, we are almost ready to start clearing the site and getting the site ready for Spring 2011, as soon as our water supply is connected.
