We are implementing a recycling scheme for consumer electronic equipment. The scheme enables our charity to raise funds whilst at the same time helping the environment. We are collecting Mobile Phones, PDAs, MP3s, MP4’s, IPODs, Satellite Navigation Units, Ink Cartridges and Toners. Please don’t throw these items away, recycle them and help us to raise funds!

Leafy

Leafy (Lightfoot Eco-Adventures for Youth) is a not-for-profit social enterprise dedicated to helping young people create a more sustainable world.  We aim to raise personal, social and environmental awareness through the provision of adventure, well-being and volunteering experiences.  Leafy provides unique experiences in adventure, personal development and sustainable living through outward bound work with 8 -11 year olds.

Who we are…Currently the core partnership consists of Fiona Nicholls and Dr Steven Glynn who, together, have over 20 years experience of working in sustainable development and a track record in conducting research, capacity building, developing practical solutions and managing projects.

Faiths4Change

Building on the evidence gained from the Operation EDEN pilot study on Merseyside (2004 – 07), Faiths4Change aims to support people of faith and other local residents to create partnership project solutions to environmental issues in their communities. We work closely with agencies from all sectors from local authorities to residents & tenants groups to ensure maximum support for projects & their longer term sustainability. We’ve also offered support to more than 150 faith communities on Merseyside and are now looking to extend this across the region.

Manchester Youth Volunteering Project (MYVP)

MYVP works with young people to build up their confidence in being able to contribute to their communities and helps them develop skills to articulate their opinions. The project also works with organisations on a training and consultancy basis to help decision makers and practitioners make room for young people’s participation in service development and delivery.

People & Planet (MMU)

There are People & Planet groups at over 55 UK universities and colleges. They are run by students and are the core of the People & Planet network. They campaign and raise awareness about the global issues that matter to them by having speakers, debates, quizzes, colourful demonstrations, boycotts, club nights and more so get involved in your local group to learn about the issues, have fun and campaign for real change.
