It's the season for resolutions and starting off on the right foot, so why not get stuck in to some new volunteering opportunities?
We've some great new projects starting in 2011, including our first event led by local residents in Stockport! Some of our newest LPMs will be having their first events and meetings too. Also keep an eye out for exciting developments coming soon relating to new schools and community energy projects - expect to hear about that in the AfSL Newsletter soon.

Apologies for the lateness of the newsletter - along with much of the population I got ill during the very cold weather.
In particular, apologies to anyone that sent in opportunities for events that have already happened. I hope that won't put anyone off sending in opportunities in the New Year. Given that everyone will be on holiday it would be great to plan ahead for any events or sessions. The New Year is a great time for people to make resolutions and to take up positive new hobbies and activities!

Welcome to November's update of volunteering opportunities with Action for Sustainable Living. We have some great events coming up this month, including AfSL's own event, a conference in Ardwick and a great community event in Crumpsall - and all that is after the Envirolution festival happening this weekend! (see last months issue, or their website).
There is also a workshop on recycled Christmas decorations - yes it is that time of year already!

There's so much going on in October that we've decided to include a contents list. There are green festivals to get involved with, one off new and ongoing projects, and all kinds of opportunities - and all this before we have even taken on the new group of Local Project Managers that are currently being interviewed!
Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you are organising an event with the help of AfSL and have an upcoming need for volunteers. There is also information about getting support and equipment for your events and projects below.
