Polar Bear takes small steps in Trafford

Snowy the polar bear says "Don't be a waster ... help to save energy!"

Alongside the roll-out of our community program in Trafford, AfSL is partnering with the council in a pilot project to support six primary schools in reducing their energy consumption. SUST Fashion Show 2006

SUST 06 Poster designed by a volunteer

Sustainable Urban Styles Today (SUST), a showcase event of eco and ethical fashion organized by AfSL, proved to be a fantastic success. Held at Bridgewater Hall on April 4th 2006 the show included outfits from local designers, fashion students, schools and community groups along with displays from ethical retailers.

Do It In The Dark

Volunteer Designed Info Poster Oct 05

Do It In The Dark was devised by AfSL, Emerge Recycling and MMU Estates Manager, Andrew Gillies. The main aim was to develop baseline measures of energy and waste attitudes/behaviours in some of MMU's halls of residence. This was followed by a poster, pledge and workshop campaign to help increase MMU staffs’ and students’ awareness of sustainability issues.
