Hanna Backman, Voluntary Swap Shop Coordinator

Hanna Backman

Volunteer of the month for February 2008 for ...

I am a contact person for the SUST Swap Shop, which launched October 07 and will hopefully become a regular event where people can swap clothes. It would be good to see people buying less clothes made in sweatshops and doing more swapping instead. I am also big on organic food and cooking so welcome to my house for dinner sometime!

I am a founder member of Action for Sustainable Living. I have particular responsibility for evaluation and for IT/communications, including the AfSL website, newsletter and management information systems.

I enjoy cycling - mainly commuting to and from my work at the University, where I am a researcher. I have a longstanding interest in Fairtrade and am a member of Shared Interest, a co-operative lending society offering ethical investment in fair trade with the Third World.
