Sustainable Urban Styles Today (SUST), a showcase event of eco and ethical fashion organized by AfSL, proved to be a fantastic success. Held at Bridgewater Hall on April 4th 2006 the show included outfits from local designers, fashion students, schools and community groups along with displays from ethical retailers. Do It In The Dark was devised by AfSL, Emerge Recycling and MMU Estates Manager, Andrew Gillies. The main aim was to develop baseline measures of energy and waste attitudes/behaviours in some of MMU's halls of residence. This was followed by a poster, pledge and workshop campaign to help increase MMU staffs’ and students’ awareness of sustainability issues. … [more about this project] |

HEAT’s first community-wide awareness raising campaign was a Newsletter mail-out to the 7,000 residents in Hulme. The newsletter campaign was funded by National Energy Action as a regional winner in their 'Affordable Warmth' scheme. It was put together with contributions from HEAT members and other volunteers and included: |
