Researchers from the University of Salford have suggested that householders will invest in property-level protection against climate change if they are offered a choice of cash-equivalent rewards. For example, if a household invests £200 on energy-efficiency improvements to their home such as loft insulation, the household can choose from a selection of rewards worth up to £200, such as veggie boxes or travel vouchers. Our project will discover if this research is true and whether a system such as this will deliver carbon savings.
