VACANCY: LEAD GROWER
Riverbank Community Café and Market Garden is a Community
Interest Company. We have secured funding to develop an exciting
new project in Chorlton, based on the Merseybank and Barlow Moor
and Chorlton Park estates. We are a new organisation seeking to
employ a lead grower to work with the community to grow food
organically with the local community.
We are seeking a reliable person with skills in growing and managing local
volunteers to be our lead grower.
Are you able to work within tight deadlines to help design and create out
Market Garden?
Can you manage a budget and maintain accurate records of all aspects of a
Market Garden?
We are seeking a reliable person with skills in growing and managing
local volunteers to be our lead grower.
Are you able to work alone and within a multi agency group?
Do you have experience in landscaping and horticulture?
About the post
The post holder will be working on the site situated behind the Co op Barlow
Moor Rd/ Hardy Lane and will be expected to do admin work from home
initially.
The post is offered until March 2011. The salary is £10 per hour. Hours will be
subject to the growing season with up to 30 hours in high season and 14 hours
in low. The post holder will be expected to work flexible hours including
occasional weekends and evenings.
