Volunteers are required to help clear the site planned for a communal plotat Cleveleys Ave Allotment for four Sundays in August, commencing 1st August. This will mainly involve clearing the site of rubble, discarded waste and weeds.
The entrance to the site is at the end of Cleveleys Avenue (off sandyLane). The days will last from 10.30 –4.00; you will need to be let into the site on arrival so please register your interest with me (Craig Hewitt) beforehand and I will give you my number to contact in case the gate is locked and unattended.
Please note that all volunteers must have registered and attended an induction with AfSL and signed the Health and Safety policy to take partfor insurance purposes. For those who do not meet this requirement but are interested in being involved with the project for the long-term, it is possible to join the Cleveleys Ave Allotment society as an associate member for£15 / year, which will cover insurance.
Spades and forks are limited at the site so please bring along your own ifyou have one. Stout boots and gloves are also recommended, as are pack lunches and sun cream if you intend to spend along day in the ever-surprising British sun. It is a large piece of land and so the more volunteers the merrier! Hope to see you there!
