The city council's energy group runs the 'Greater Manchester South energy efficiency advice centre'. It's funded by the Energy Saving Trust (external site) on behalf of the government. The centre offers:
- freephone impartial energy advice
- free home energy checks and home energy reports
- information about grants for energy-saving work
- presentations to community groups
- staff training
- promotional events
- presentations and activities for schools
