St Mary's Ward

St Mary's  ward is densely populated and suburban in character. According to 2001 census the population of  St Mary Ward was  11,160 while the total resident of Trafford being   211,180. Since July as Local Project Manager for AFSL I am  involved in  promoting sustainable way of life through attending events, community meetings and house to house visit. The baseline survey/ community consulation  through house to house visit has helped me   to understand my community's  view on sustainabilty  and have clearer idea in which area to focus. I would like  to promote economical use of water through connection of water meter and being aware of how we  use potable water ecomically at household level. I am also interested to promote waste minimization through composting , recyling and reduction of waste. Through the community consultaions we found that the community has a good awareness/experience   about recycling but need encouraging  on reduction and composting of waste.
