Action for Sustainable Living’s Energy Academy programme is designed to engage, enthuse and support staff and tenant champions support tenants in cutting energy use and costs through implementing simple behavioural changes in the home.

The six week pilot project resulted in total annual fuel bill savings for tenants of £8,932 and annual emission reductions of at least 31 tonnes CO2 each year; a lifetime saving of 868 tonnes. Comprehensive training on reducing energy use and assisting others to do so has been delivered to 14 residents and 9 City South staff. The trained staff and tenants, alongside AfSL trainers have subsequently advised 157 additional City South tenants.
