As a founding member of AfSL, I have helped develop the original vision and model of working and now help with fund raising and social enterprise. My background in construction and interest in sustainability has led to me being involved in the development of the Code for Sustainable Homes as a consultant to the Building Research Establishment (BRE). I currently work as a sustainable homes consultant assisting developers, local authorities, contractors and housing associations to achieve better quality and more sustainable housing.

I was a volunteer and business adviser with AfSL before becoming a Board member in 2010.  Building on AfSL’s ‘model’, I haveled the development work for the current project row to work with communitiesacross South , Community Engagement for Sustainable Living.

I am a founding member of AfSL and responsible for its finances and operations.
In 1988 I co-founded a company supporting people with learning disabilities to access local communities, that now employs over 500 staff. Until 2007 I was a Director of the internet portal Ethical Junction. I am currently Treasurer of the Historic Buildings Trust and Director of a film production company, Made Up North Productions.

I am a Director and founding member of AfSL, responsible for human resources and training. I am a qualified Counsellor (and Counselling Supervisor) and Teacher, and pioneered an innovative Schools Counselling Service for a local voluntary organisation.
